Mixing religion and science.

Climate Change Activism an Attack on Western Culture

by Lewis Loflin

What should be a discussion on scientific and technical issues is anything but. We can no longer have a technical debate on anything deemed political - everything is political to the Left.

One will notice in this debate is not about actual science, nor is there any proof that human activities are behind climate events going back to 1750. 1750 began the Industrial Revolution and the modern world.

The climate was far colder than today, and severe climate events rocked the world for centuries—the goal of climate activists: a return to 1750 when the Thames froze over—an end to capitalism and Enlightenment reason.

If fossil fuels are such a threat, we can replace much of that with nuclear. They oppose that, spare us the nonsense arguments over waste disposal and other technical issues that have been solved but are impossible to implement due to political opposition from the same activists.

We can and have engineered GMO trees that could remove billions of tons of carbon dioxide (wrongly labeled carbon) and supply wood products, fiber, and food for wildlife. We have chestnut trees resistant to the blight that destroyed billions of trees in the past. We have fast-growing poplar trees. We can bioengineer crops that reduce the use of fertilizers and water. Present CO2 levels increase plant yields and decrease water use as it is.

These climate activists, assorted New Age practitioners, socialists, scientists milking government grants, and climate Grifters oppose every effort. The climate cult demands a spiritual and social revolution, not technology, to solve what should be engineering issues.

Social sciences today reject objective reality and empiricism for subjectivity. Critical theory and post-modernism poison the social sciences. This rubbish blends and hides Marxism in academic babble cloaked in science.

To quote by Carl R. Trueman,

Nietzsche said that the nineteenth century was not distinguished by the victory of science but by the victory of the scientific method. His point was that once a claim could be dressed up as the result of a scientific procedure, it became culturally incontestable. ... The politics of contemporary social science now has an iron grip on what are deemed legitimate perceptions of reality.

To quote Bruce Pardy:

"Modern Western civilization grew out of the Enlightenment of the 17th and 18th centuries. The ascendancy of reason in human affairs produced the scientific method and later the Industrial Revolution. Add in the rule of law, individual liberty, private property, and capitalism, and you have the basic recipe that has raised much of humanity out of poverty and oppression over two centuries.

Four academic doctrines-Critical Theory, Postmodernism, Social Justice, and Critical Race Theory-are moving the world, or at least the West, from this triumph to decline. These doctrines reject Enlightenment values such as open inquiry, individual autonomy, free speech, scientific skepticism, and even reason itself. They claim to champion equality, peace, and social cooperation, but instead promote identity politics, elitism, and centralized control. They are the four doctrines of the apocalypse."

What do climate experts say about climate change?

"Basically, it is a big mistake to discuss climate policy apart from the big issues of globalization. ... But one has to be clear: we are effectively redistributing world wealth through climate policy. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy..."
Climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world's wealth.

Just who is Ottmar Edenhofer? To quote,

Ottmar Georg Edenhofer is a German economist who is regarded as one of the world's leading experts on climate change policy, environmental and energy policy, and energy economics. Ottmar Georg Edenhofer is an academic and philosopher with no credentials in earth science or any related field. He is a another Marxist whose own bio cites Karl Marx as an influence. So why is he one of the people making public policy on an issue he knows nothing about?

To quote, "Edenhofer says that his interest in philosophy and economics was influenced by his readings of the works of Henry George, Karl Marx, Max Weber, Ludwig Wittgenstein, and John Dewey." (WIKI)

What about this "scientific" report from CNN News 2-18-2022:

"President Joe Biden pledged during his first days in office that 40% of federal funds for climate and clean energy initiatives would be prioritized for underserved communities (meaning race) – a key pillar of his environmental justice (Marxist) agenda. ... But it notably leaves out race as a factor to determine whether a community is eligible for the initiative..."

How about this from the far-left Center for American Progress on June 22, 2021:

"Implementing Biden's Justice40 Commitment To Combat Environmental Racism To maximize the near-term benefits of climate and clean energy investments delivered to disadvantaged communities..."

The New York Times Feb 15, 2022 notes that to hide the racist motives of Mr. Biden,

"To step away from race, the Biden administration intends to identify towns and neighborhoods that need environmental help based on dozens of data points like household income, unemployment..."

None of that is science anything. It does get worse.

What is "Earth System Science"? This is really vague and seems to be a way of centralized, mass global control of all resources. It is a mish-mash of academic rubbish. To quote,

At its broadest scale, Earth system science brings together researchers across both the natural and social sciences, from fields including ecology, economics, geography, geology, glaciology, meteorology, oceanography, climatology, paleontology, sociology, and space science. Like the broader subject of systems science, Earth system science assumes a holistic view of the dynamic interaction between the Earth's spheres and their many constituent subsystems fluxes and processes...

Sorry but "natural and social sciences" are exclusive to each other. Social sciences fail the scientific method and are not considered science in the sense of say volcanism or geology or chemistry. Today the social sciences often undermine natural science. Social sciences have become infiltrated by Critical Theory, that sees reality through a Marxist lens.

That is why their computer model predictions fail and continue to do so. The minute I read "holistic" anything that raises red flags.

A number of search results claim social sciences are "scientific" because it uses the scientific method, but not in the manner of natural science - cloaking nonsense in science. There is one scientific method, not multiple ones encompassing a "holistic" spectrum.

I finally found a coherent definition of the "social scientific method" is influenced by Marxian Critical Theory, or the relationship of economic power:

The social scientific method is an investigative technique or procedure used to understand humans and their interactions. Broadly speaking, it includes collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information across various social sciences, such as economics, politics, cultural anthropology, sociology, and psychology. ... The social scientific method is important for building social scientific knowledge, including economics."

Volcanism, particle radiation, continental drift, ozone, etc. has no relation to social anything. Would one really fly in an aircraft based on the "social scientific method"?

Liberal Racial Marxism

In the examples above climate activists never present empirical science, their agenda is a fusion of leftwing racism, Marxism, and a fascist world view. Any form of "justice" is simply Neo-Marxism.

Nobody questions the climate is changing because it always has, but questioning nearly 100 years of one failed hysterical prediction after another is what scientific method is supposed to be about. Using terms such as "denier" is a political tactic to silence open debate. And the Arctic sea ice is just fine and polar bears are doing well in 2023.

Ottmar Georg Edenhofer made it clear this has never been about climate.

The real "deniers" are these Marxists and Progressive racists refusing to address their own failures.

To quote a famous politician:

"Fighting climate change will be 'the civil rights movement of our generation ... We can use the transition to 100 percent renewable energy as the vehicle to truly deliver and establish economic, social and racial justice in the United States of America."

Social justice (or environmental justice) is a cover for Marxism. To quote,

CRITICAL THEORY is rooted in Marxism, and SOCIAL JUSTICE, as social justice warrior Joan Alway admits above, is application of Critical Theory "affecting revolutionary social change." That revolution may be labeled liberation, cultural transformation, or Christian Social Justice, but it begins with Progressives "deconstructing" traditional Western values and culture by redistributing wealth and power. Traditional Marxist's tried and failed to accomplish redistribution by establishing class equality. Twenty-first century Progressives are attempting to accomplish it by establishing "identity" equality: sexual, gender, racial equality. These Progressive efforts are evident everywhere in American culture.

From Encyclopedia Britannica on Postmodernism:

Postmodernism, also spelled post-modernism, in Western philosophy, a late 20th-century movement characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power.
